Published sources. Voting layers come from the uploaded GeoJSON files. Calendar events come from saved public organizer calendars and listings.

Map layers

Each layer is a GeoJSON FeatureCollection in WGS84 coordinates (longitude, latitude). The uploaded voting layers retain their supplied geometry and attributes.

Uploaded voting data

The 34 polling-place records and 31 voting precincts come from public/data/polling_places.geojson and public/data/voting_precincts.geojson. They are served directly without changing their attributes or geometry.

The polling file contains 17 records marked Active, 11 marked Historical and 6 without an activity value. All records are available on the map, with activity shown in their details. Precincts and polling records link through the supplied polling ID. This site does not independently verify whether a location is currently in use.

Commission districts

The nine commission district polygons and commissioner names, phone numbers, email identifiers, website and photo references come from Macon-Bibb County Government IT GIS’s CountyCommissioners2024 feature layer, used in the county’s Find Your Commissioner app. Exported October 15, 2026 in WGS84. Attribution: Macon-Bibb County Government IT GIS. This saved snapshot does not refresh automatically; confirm current contact details with the county. Email identifiers are displayed with the county’s domain, following the source app.

MGRLS libraries

The Middle Georgia Regional Library directory and its individual location pages were checked October 15, 2026. The map includes 18 fixed library and book-locker locations in Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Macon, Twiggs and Wilkinson counties. Each county has its own book-marker color. Library WOW is a mobile service and is linked without a fixed marker.

Published addresses, phone numbers and hours are preserved in the library GeoJSON. Days not listed by MGRLS are not assumed closed. Washington Memorial includes separate main-library, genealogy and computer-lab schedules. Confirm holiday hours using each location’s source link. Map points are approximate US Census address matches, with three reviewed OpenStreetMap library features used to resolve ambiguous or unmatched addresses.

Recreation centers

The Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department directory lists 11 recreation, community, senior and boxing centers. Names, published addresses, hours and amenities were captured October 15, 2026. Attribution: Macon-Bibb County Government Recreation Department.

Map points are approximate street-address locations from the US Census Geocoder, rather than verified building entrances. All 11 street/city/state queries returned a single match. Some published ZIP codes differ from Census matches; original county addresses are preserved alongside the matched addresses. Confirm hours with the county before visiting. The snapshot does not refresh automatically.

Schools and school-board districts

The BCSD District Zone Maps link leads to the district-endorsed GIS app maintained through the Middle Georgia Regional Commission. Snapshot: October 15, 2026. Attribution: Bibb County School District; Middle Georgia Regional Commission.

The school source contains 43 school and facility points with source record status, split into 22 elementary, six middle, six high, one pre-K, seven Administration and one Specialty School records. Categories follow the GIS source, including its classifications for academies and support facilities. Each type has its own map layer and marker color; the complete combined download remains available in the source catalog. Published attendance layers contain 23 elementary, six middle and six high-school polygons. Their source term is CURRENT 2025-26 SY; these files do not establish 2026–27 assignments. Split and temporary elementary areas remain separate. Six geographic school-board polygons retain source board-member names. Proposed rezoning layers are excluded.

Macon-Bibb transit

Attribution: Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority. The official GTFS Schedule feed, captured October 15, 2026, supplies 10 bus routes, 29 route-path variants and 854 stop records. Paths come from shapes and trips, rather than straight lines between stops. Stop-to-route connections are joined through stop times and trips; unused stop records remain identifiable.

Feed version 6-6-26 covers June 7 through October 31, 2026. These are scheduled services, not live arrivals or disruption notices. Original GTFS files retain trip times, service calendars and exceptions. Check the authority’s MyRide site for current service. No automatic refresh is configured.

MBCTA Rapid service area

The four on-demand service-zone records come directly from the public KML export of the Google My Maps map embedded on MBCTA Rapid’s official website, captured October 15, 2026. Attribution: Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority — Rapid Transit.

The original polygons are retained, including the three-part Northwest zone. Published zone names are Downtown, South, East and Northwest Bibb; the original Downtown placemark name is retained as a property. Older “Coming July 1, 2026” annotations remain in source properties and popups. Rapid is an on-demand service, separate from the fixed-route GTFS schedule. Both trip endpoints must fall inside active zones; check the authority’s site for current availability.

Street basemap

Street tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License. The basemap requires an internet connection. You can turn it off and continue to explore the geographic layers.

Community events

On October 15, 2026, 25 nearby listings from the Democratic Party of Georgia 26 feed on Mobilize were captured as 119 dated shifts, including recurring times and locally hosted virtual events. The requested area is within about 35 miles of Macon in a straight line; matching listings were in Macon, Warner Robins and Monticello. This snapshot covers the supplied organization feed, not every organization on Mobilize. Public addresses were checked with the US Census geocoder: 29 occurrences have locations at nine venues. Private, virtual and city-only locations are not plotted. Sign-waving meeting points should be confirmed with the organizer.

The original page text, expanded available-time lists, search evidence and coordinate responses are saved in the project. Each dated shift links to its signup page. Source IDs and start times keep repeated imports from creating duplicates; separate Mobilize listings with the same title remain distinct. Confirm updates with the organizer. Dates use America/New_York with the applicable daylight-saving offset.

Download the calendar

Mid GA DSA calendar snapshots

Public Google Calendar feeds linked from Mid GA DSA’s calendar page were downloaded October 15, 2026. Four feeds were available; two embedded feeds returned 404. The separate community calendar is excluded. Recurring dates are expanded from January 1, 2026 through October 15, 2027, including exclusions and moved occurrences. Original ICS files and provenance are saved in the project. Events without published physical addresses remain calendar-only. Venue markers use US Census address geocoding and are approximate address locations, not confirmed meeting points.

MGRLS event calendar

The Middle Georgia Regional Library calendar was captured October 15, 2026. The snapshot includes 446 published occurrences from October 15 through November 30, covering all seven program categories. Thirteen monthly pages were checked through October 2027; later months have no published events in this snapshot. CalendarWiz’s RSS feed caps output at 200 events, so the import uses the full month pages and a saved detail page for each occurrence.

Source IDs prevent duplicate imports. Seven all-day events retain date-only calendar exports, and timed events follow America/New_York daylight-saving changes. There are 424 mapped occurrences at 18 venues, using verified branch locations and the published off-site address for Sweet Eleanor’s. Mobile Library Without Walls visits and a book sale with an unspecified Preschool building stay calendar-only. The saved source pages contain full descriptions; event cards show short excerpts and link to the original listing for attendance requirements and changes.

Updating content

Maintainers can replace the files in public/data/ and update the map definitions in src/data/maps.ts. Event records live in src/data/events.json. Publish verified source information and review the notices when switching to production content. The project README explains the update and deployment workflow.
